Downtown Development Authorities (DDA) and their appointed boards are created to revitalize and redevelop the central business districts of cities in Georgia. Downtown Development Authority (DDA) training provides local leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to ensure a healthy, vibrant downtown.
The South Fulton Downtown Development Authority was activated by a resolution of the City Council of the City of South Fulton on September 22, 2020.

South Fulton Downtown Development Authority (SFDDA) Board Members must be taxpaying citizens of the City of South Fulton, include an owner or operator of a business located within the downtown development area, and shall be taxpayers residing in Fulton County, Georgia. One member may be a member of the City Council of the City of South Fulton, and not less than four (4) members shall be, or represent, a party who has an economic interest in the development and revitalization of the downtown development area.
